Monosodium phosphate (MSP) is a great addition to an equine diet that's high in calcium. You might feed MSP to ensure you are closer to the correct ratio of calcium to phosphorus. For optimum absorption, calcium and phosphorous should be provided at a specific ratio. This ratio is generally accepted to be 1.5 – 2 parts calcium (Ca) to one part 1 phosphorous (P) (NRC 2007).
Monosodium Phosphate | 1kilo
Monosodium phosphate is a great way to add more phosphorus to the equine diet without adding more calcium (i.e. via dicalcium phosphate/DCP). I often recommend adding monosodium phosphate when a considerable amount of lucerne is part of your horse's diet.
